Storr Necklace with handcrafted silver and smokey quartz
The inspiration for this 'one of a kind' necklace came from the Old Man of Storr rock formation in the Isle of Skye. To create the handcrafted silver tag, silver clay was cut, textured, dried and sanded before drilling and decorating with syringed clay. In the kiln, the binder in the clay is burnt away to reveal the silver. After being hallmarked at Edinburgh Assay Office, the final stage of the creative process was to enhance the textures by dipping it in a solution of liver of sulphur to give the charm a slight patina. Then the silver was teamed with Scotland's national gemstone - smokey quartz - and jasper, with tiny tiger's eye beads.
The 18 inch necklace is finished with a 925 silver lobster claw clasp and it comes to you gift boxed with information about the gemstones and Tips on Caring for your Gemstone and Silver Jewellery.
